I think saying that is actually kind of sweet and romantic. You can look at it the way you do, but you can also see it as a way the pregnancy is shared. Even if the father doesn't experience the pain, the weight and all that, he can have a great deal of stress to deal with - just think of all the moods a pregnant woman has because of the hormonal changes. It takes patience and understanding but the father can do a great deal to ease the pregnancy - he can help in raising the mother's physical and emotional confort, for example. And even if he's not physically pregnant, he'll be just as excited about it and just as worried, should there be any problems. In an extreme situation, he might even get sick during the 9 months, to literally answer your question :)

Well it takes two none the less!! I think if a father is really involved then he has the right to say we are pregnant. I mean who has to put up with all of the things you just listed :)

Well... "we" have children together... "we" experienced the loss and grief over miscarriages.. and yes.. "we" experience the joys of being pregnant.

My husband and I are a team. If my back hurts- he rubs it. I released the egg and he fertilized it. It's a real ebb and flow.
