Take it to a Vet and have the scent gland removed

Bathing your ferret constantly is not the answer. The ferret itself does not really smell all that bad. It is typically the "waste" of the ferret (poop and pee) that is what makes the most of the odor associated with the animal. Constant bathing of your ferret will make the animals skin and fur dry thus putting the ferrets oil glands into over-drive. This actually makes them smell worse.

Here is some good advice: When you get your ferret(s) home give them a bath with regular old baby bath. Let them run around and dry off. This will be the last time you need to do it for at-least 6 months. Keep baby wipes around in case your ferret gets into anything messy. Keep their litter pan and cage VERY clean! You will need to scoop their litter pan twice a day. You will need to completely replace the litter every 2-3 days. Offering old t-shirts or p.j.'s for bedding is great but you will need to wash it every couple of days. Clean the whole cage with hot soapy water once a week.

Following all these steps should either eliminate or at-least drastically reduce the odors associated with ferrets.

Good luck!

less expensive and worked for my friend with a ferret, works for me with rabbits and hamsters---go to pet land, I know they have it, explain the problem and ask them for the drops to put in your ferrets water supply to help with the smell. The drops come in a bottle with a push-down mechanism and the directions should tell you how much to add to his water
while you're there you may want to pick up some good smelling ferret safe wash cloths, as a solution to less baths-it's like a damp rag that you just wipe them down with, and some good smelling ferret safe shampoo for when your ferret does get a bath.
if all else fails then talk to your vet about removing his smelly glands-but alot of people don't have to resort to that, I hope you can find another way
good luck

This is impossible to completely accomplish. My sister has had the same ferret for 8 yrs, and has tried everything they come up with but to no avail. Good luck though with your ferret, they are pretty awsome pets. :)

Trust me you can't even if they have had their scent glands removed. All that you can do is give you ferret a bath With shampoo that you can get in pet stores

I'm sorry. you can't do it naturally, but you can go get some no-scent or good-scent shampoo from a pet store, Petsmart is really good with that stuff. Your ferret lets off major scents. It's just his scent glands, it's not like he's rolling in poo, be thanksul for that.
