I live in northern wisconsin -- And here there are many mexican restraunts -- 2 are even owned by mexicans but the mexican food that they are serving seems more americanized. When I lived in San Diego the mexican restraunts are truely real mexican food. and Recently went down to San Antonio (6 months ago) and there food is Authentic.. What is up with these mexican restraunts up North. I totally agree Taco Bell is more like mexiCANT !!

I have been so San Antonio and had food at various authentic Mexican restaurants. Also did not know the difference between the green chili and the red. Oh Boy, Pancho the pitch in my voice changed drastically after trying out the chili. Viva Mejico.

Yeah chica I hear you on that one! I go to this restaurant San Jose where I live and I dont like the food there its run by some Mexicanos but the food isnt that good. I would like to go to Texas one day and eat authentic Mexican food. Thats right SCREW DAMN TACO BELL! Whats sad is that a lot of Ethnic foods get introduced here to America they get Americanized especially Italiano food.

You're right about that. I still like Taco Bell for a quick lunch. Two of the specialties that I make at my home are Enchiladas Polo with goat cheese and Chile Rellenos made with fresh, not canned, Anaheim peppers. Everything homemade. Not too bad for a Swede, eh?

After living in Mesa and Nogales, Arizona for 16 years, I've never been to a Taco Bell or Taco John's. That so-called food is crap.

I know, real mexican tacos are nothing like the ones we're used to eat.
I don't like Taco Bell, but authentic tacos are actually pretty good!

Ahhhh, right now I'd love a bowl of Sopa de Lima in Cozumel, or the fresh fish from the Baja's Sea of Cortez, or some flan from the House of Flan in Mexico City. This Houstonian knows exactly what you are talking about, amiga !

It really is amazing to me how many people mistake fast food or tourist Mexican food for the the real article.
