I run an access database full of Programs and Performers. The database is currently available for viewing on my works intranet using cold fusion. However, I'm trying to convert the website to Frontpage (as it's the only other thing we have available to us) and I'm looking for help on putting access into frontpage. I know a lot of basic HTML knowledge but not a whole lot about SQL or Access. We want the staff to be able to search the database through the website in a query sort of way.

For instance: a 'music' related program for 'teens' or an 'author' program for 'adults' about 'black history'.

We've read through mastering frontpage books and haven't found any real help with frontpage and databases.

Are there any websites where I could get any help or Ideas to accomplish this? Book suggestions? Maybe even other program suggestions (though mind you my company does not have a lot of money or up-to-date equipment...we're government!) Thanks.

We have a website already and we're using .ASP.

Basically I'm asking for help on where I can go to get ideas more so than what I can use because most of that we kind of already know.

It's on our intranet and it's on access 2002. It can't be used 'as-is' because we just want them to be able to view the information and not just edit the information.

I had hopes to actually find websites online with information from a database for ideas, but I've come up empty on that too.

Also... we've already got the database connected to Frontpage.

I don't need webservers or how to connect the database. I need more... how to create the actual pages.. if that makes any sense to anyone besides my own head.

You can't really connect database with frontpage.

You need something that can connect to access database through ODBC.

Other language like PHP, ColdFusion, ASP, ASP.NET, CGI, JSP etc.

You have to have a web host that will let you run programs on the server that will store access data on the server (on godaddy for example, this an extra option off under hosting maintenance and may cost more.) (Or pay for the server software if you are your own host.) The website also has to be willing to install or give access to MS Server stuff. If not, then you probably have to use Java, which is why I haven't gone further. As a starting point, go into FrontPage Help Index and type access; database then look at the info in all its variations.

a cyber web developer ought to do it. Developer, no longer dressmaker. while you're no longer helpful of the adaptation... the developer handles the database part besides. you will have some thought how the information gets onto your internet site, of direction. Do your shoppers hyperlink to the exterior sites? Are you the single that, in the top, will replica different sites and pull the information domestically? Will your internet site join various different sites utilising an computerized RSS feed? of those, the only one that is going to be criminal is the final decision, i could suspect. something, you may choose to license the content fabric you're posting to stay away from copyright violations. Kayak in all probability pays licensing costs for its content fabric, yet once you do no longer intend to fee and are not working classified ads, you heavily isn't waiting to pay for authorized content fabric and could be required to the two replica information or retrieve public-area information alongside with that printed by skill of RSS feeds.
