I worked during tax season, and was told I would receive a bonus based on erevenue generated by the office I managed.

Talked to my former boss yesterday, who said they were calculating the bonuses and writing checks, and mine would be ready in an hour or so, and for me to call back to confirm it. I called in an hour, they said give them another hour. I called in another hour, and got voice-mail.....called again, got voice-mail....finally gave up and didn't call anymore yesterday.

Just called this morning, and I'm getting voice-mail again. This is pissing me off. I have a car payment due on Monday, and really need that money.

What would you do in my shoes? I was told I could get it yesterday, but now it's like they are avoiding me........... >: (

Yikes! Call first thing monday morning. I think if you were never late before on your car payment, they'll waive the late fee for you.

Call the BBB and try to borrow the money from someone so your payment won't be late..... If you can't borrow the money call your bank or whoever and let them know what's going on.... Good luck...

sounds like you're fuct - unless you have them on audio tape or video saying they're going to give you the bonus you claim they are.

if it's not in writing in your contract or an amendment to your contract with your employer, it never happened.

best bet..don't count your chickens before they hatch. Second, get the labor board on him if he doesn't pay in a timely manner.
