Don Imus worked for CBS or MSNBC? (whatever I only watch cspan) and the channels sponsors, he went too far and the corporations wanted him cut. He has the right to speak his mind and he can face his consequences. Anne Coulter makes ignorant comments but she works for herself and makes appearances, she can get away with it. Rev. Al Sharpton can also speak his mind and plenty of people speak out against him, these two are different from a host on a "respected" news station.
Again this is just my opinion.

The Imus situation is very unfair. But Imus also fired someone over a cancer joke, so I can't really feel bad for the guy.

thats how things work and no one can change it and im not gon say that you are wrong because black people want respect from whites and we dont respect ourselves and im not downing blacks either but im saying that i think its all wrong, we need to stop, yes Rutgers was wrong why would he even say something like that, and i think what he got justified for what he said he shouldve been fired because who is he to disrespect anybody and if a black person said it i would be offended also. But a white person shouldnt call a black person a ****** or shouldnt even use it in my eyes but hey i dont even care.....its an issue that would never be resolved, the same double standard is for men and women, if we sleep with 100 guys we are whores but they do it and they are called playas, its an issue that will never get resolved....dont stress yourself about it

Unfortunately, tender-hearted, soft-headed white guilt-ridden liberals apply one standard to white people and a lower one to blacks. It has to stop. Respecting black people means holding them up to the same high standard as their white counterparts. If Imus should be fired over his comments, so should the good Rev.

As you said, double standard. No one should use the word, or everyone should, or it is racist.
