There is no such thing as a regulator pill, all birth control regulates your periods, but not without providing birth control protection as well.

I would suggest trying to speak with your mother. It is best if you can speak with her openly and honestly that way you can get good sound, accurate advice on whatever you may question.

If you feel you can't confront her before your appt I would see if there is someway you can get the doctor or nurse alone for a moment and make sure they do some portion of the appointment alone. I would think that they would at the very least do the physical exam alone. Especially if you are getting a pelvic exam. If they are going to do a pelvic and they ask if you if you want your mom to stay with you say no its okay *even if you MIGHT want her there* that way you can get a few minutes alone with the doctor.

But being open and honest with your doctor is VERY VERY important. So even if you CAN'T get time alone with him/her, make sure you let them know about you having had sexual intercourse.

Good Luck dear.

Ok for one the pills are the same birth control is birth control they work the same way But I think you should be honest with your doctor. He isnt allowed to tell your mom its patient doctor confidents! I dont know how old you are if your around 16 or so I'm assuming ( I'm HOPING IF NOT OLDER!) If your scared to tell your doctor your sexually active then your not ready to have sex to begin with.
And if your doctor does a pap smear he will know anyway. Either tell your doctor in front of your parents or in private or stop having sex because thats a big decision that can change your life forever
Good luck to you

Tell the truth. Mom will be a helluva lot madder if you get pregnant than if you just admit to being sexually active, I guarantee it. You can also tell your doctor this w/out Mom being around and besides that, if you are regularly sexually active, your doctor will find this out if he/she does a pelvic exam anyway. So just be honest about it.

Besides, you need to let the doctor decide what you need. I don't know how old you are, but the fact that there's so much you don't know is why you shouldn't be having sex in the first place...

This is an issue that comes up so often that they have laws in place. Go in to the exam room without your mom and tell your doctor the truth.

If you are a minor, there are very few things he can do without your mom's consent, but birth control is one of them. So even if she wasn't there consenting (for a different reason, obviously), he would not be permitted to tell her. And he can't tell her what you've said to him either.

Please also use condoms because birth control is not 100% effective and you can still get STDs. 80% of college age students have HPV which doesn't hurt men--but can cause cancer in woman. 1 in 100 people are HIV positive. Be safe!

Tell the truth. Your mom can wait in the waiting room so you feel more comfortable. Maybe after talking to your Dr you can feel comfortable enough to talk to your mother about being sexually active.

Be safe sweetie! The pill will help protect against pregnancy but there are STDS out there so use a condom too!

Tell the truth. Your sexual activity and request for birth control are private between you and the doctor, and the doctor cannot tell your mother anything without your permission. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise - even if you are a minor, your reproductive health is controlled by you and you have rights. Your mother can't force the info out of them.

If its really that important or your mother not to know ask her to wait in the waiting room instead of going back in the room with you. Legally the doctor can not tell your mom anything you said in the room unless it has to do with your safety etc. Make sure to be honest with the doctor though so they can get you what you need. Good luck.

Legally, your mom doesn't even have to know if you rescheduled the appointment and went by yourself. She can call and ask them, but by federal regulations, they legally can't tell her squat. That's a little extreme, though.
Just get her out of the room when you getting your exam; the doc is going to be able to tell if your a virgin or not anyways. And even if she does find out, she should be proud that your mature enough to be taking the responsibility to be proactive in the matter rather than pussying out. (no pun intended).

tell the truth. they wont tell your mom, and your mom doesnt have the right to look at your medical records so she wont find out, dont worry. and if you are afraid that they will tell your mom, just tell the DR that yes you are sexually active but you dont want your mother to know. he will be happy to oblige. Heath care is a very private issue for a lot of people, and DR are very cooperative.

a birthcontrol pill is a birth control pill. there isnt a special one to regulate your periods that would protect you from pregnancy. but you might want to use protection before youget on the pill. most likely they will give you a pregnancy test before they give you the pills. then you have to start them after the 1st day of your period. so i guess you really dont have to tell your mom. when did she deceide you needed to get on the pill, were you dating this guy? maybe she suspects it & thats why she want you on it?
