Hey guys I'm 6 months pregnant and having difficulties. They are taking my gallbladder out monday morning and I was just wondering if anyone else has done this. I know they usually wait untill after the baby is born but I have too many complications and they are doing it now. No sarcastic answers please. If anyone else has had this done while they were still pregnant i would appreciate your input
Thanks!

I don't know anyone who had their gallbladder out, but I know 2 girls who had their appendix out while pregnant. One friend was at 19 weeks, and the other was 7 months pregnant. The one who was 7 month pregnant had no complications and a healthy baby girl 2 months later. My other friend's surgery went well, but she had to sign lots of papers saying that she understood that the she could go into labor and the baby wouldn't make it, etc etc... and she was crying and it was horrible for her. She ended up having premature labor a few weeks later and was on bed rest, and made it to 34 weeks before delivering. The doctor's all agreed that the premature labor was from the surgery. You are farther along and so it wont be like that, but you will probably still be required to sign something saying you know the risks to the baby from the medicine you are given, and the risks for contractions afterwards. Good luck.

I know a girl who had her *appendix* out, not her gallbladder, during pregnancy and everything was fine. I understand that you are concerned, I would be too. But remember nowadays, they can actually operate on the fetus itself...I'm sure everything will be fine. Good luck to you!

no i have not, but i did have appendix removed when pregnant with my eldest son, and some cyst lazered off at same time, it all went well, if i remember correctly it was done on Thanksgiving and my son was born march 19th, no problems, but when they put me under i was very scared and scared to ask when i awoke, Michael was my first, he is fine and everything went well. but i don't think anyone is going to be able to ease your mind too much, it's a very scary thing, good luck, i will add you to my prayer list
