France is hardly distinguishing itself by running a moron for its highest office. I am speaking of this joke Segolene. Is she focused more on the Middle Ages or just her own whiny, self-centered ego? Either way, she is clearly a loser of the first order, more than verified by her pathetic showing in the recent debate with Sarkozy. Unable to keep her cool, she whined and screeched like a true liberal, showing once again that NO liberal anywhere on Earth can be trusted to remain calm and mature under pressure. If she cannot stand the heat of a mild debate, how can such a person legitimately aspire to govern? DUH! Further, her smarmy reference "bowing down to Bush" was no more than a reference to America since Bush would not have much overlap were she miraculously elected. France and America need to be COOPERATING these days instead of drawing further apart. Ditto with France entering the real business world! And when a woman panders to other women for votes, that is beyond shameless!

Of course. You know their history? They can't fight, they can't help, and they can't win!

Don't Fret, Sarkozy has the edge in over 100 polls in France. After Paris Burned last summer, I doubt That the French would opt for the touchy-feely Sergolene. Any way we shall know if Americas popularity will improve in 36 hours.

I take exception to your reference to "liberals", but gave you a star because she is a whiny idiot. Not all liberals are whiny, nor are they unintelligent. Segolene Royale gives all women and left-leaning people a bad name!

Let me tell you something about "Madame" Royale (who technically should be called "Madame Hollande" - after her common-law husband of many years, who is to Royale what Karl Rove is to George W. Bush. I call him "Sego's Brain". She doesn't actually have one of her own).

Her most important job was as a regional leader of one of the most backward regions of France. Electing her would be similar to electing a city counsellor from Boise to the office of U.S. President. She only has that job because she was "parachuted" by Mitterand for being pretty (and we would do well to remember here that Mitterand had a soft spot for the ladies). She only won her first election to anything 3 years ago - every other job she ever held in her life was an appointment.

What is her main foreign policy bugaboo? JAPANESE ANIME'!! (She wants to ban it).

When two French journalists were kidnapped by the Taliban in Afghanistan this year, Royale's response was that UN sanctions should be imposed against the Taliban (obviously, this is impossible since the Taliban no longer forms the Afghan government).

When she visited China, she commented on how great and efficient the Chinese legal system is, until of course everybody pointed out to her that there are more than 10,000 political executions in China every year.

She seems to have quickly formed an opinion about Turkey's succession to the EU as two weeks ago she had no opinion.

She has made similar gaffes on the issues of nuclear proliferation (specifically, Iran) and the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The economic parts of her "100 point plan" are ludicrous. They involve double taxation for all French citizens living overseas, giving all residents under the age of 25 a 10,000 euro interest-free loan (for what, she hasn't specified), and guaranteeing a job to every high school graduate (???), while at the same time telling secondary school teachers she will ban the practice of private tutoring (even for special needs children) (and simultaneously campaigning for support for special needs children) and hoping to maintain the 35 hour work week (why not make it 20 or 25, Sego - wouldn't surprise me!). Her main advisor quit when she came out with the "100 points" as economists worked out that they would cost the French economy an additional 35 billion euros a year - regress, not progress.

Never mind that she went crazy when polls showed her behind after the latest debate. I mean, going on national TV and saying that if her opponent is elected it's going to end up in violent revolution. PLEASE. Staging a debate with a friendly also-ran also smacked of the kind of desparation one can only attribute to sheer stupidity. Imagine in the 2004 US election if John Kerry had staged a debate with John McCain? We would all be scratching our heads and asking ourselves "WHY?!!".

Footnote: She claims to be "pro-family". This is a woman who not only remains unmarried by choice (technically relegating her own children to the ranks of the illegitimate), but also at age 19 sued her father (unsuccessfully) for not divorcing her mother. The grounds for dismissal were that her mother wasn't actually seeking a divorce. It's just that Segolene didn't like life as a military brat, but still wanted her father to pay for her material support. She never spoke to her father again after that, refused to attend his funeral, and lobbied four of her brothers and sisters to do the same!

It would be regrettable for France if Segolene were elected, but calling names -"loser"- is just uncivil.

I don't know much about her, but I will say this, why the hell should France be willing to work with the US after all the crap that has spewed about them by the right wing nut jobs here?
Freedom fries? Buying french wine to pour it out? Calling them traitorous socialist commies? You people have the attention span of a gnat. You cant piss someone off then expect them to play nice with you.
