No answers? I was waiting to see what answers you'd get. I'm not Indian though, and I'm assuming you mean Asian Indian. In general, I don't know that modern living is as much a problem as overpopulation and the diseases that have always been suffered, as well as malnutrition. I won't even try to list the number of diseases, but the biggest problem that I see for the majority of the population is mobility. Same as for other populations. It makes diseases spread so much more rapidly. Other than that, to actually transform the people into a weak and disease-prone people would take inbreeding, and I have no idea if that is a problem. I've heard that it's a real problem in remote areas of Afghanistan, but that problem is anything but modern. It's because they encourage marriage to close relatives.

"HELP YOUR FRIEND" seems a lot like an addendum to the Golden Rule, which is Universally acknowledge, by the way. "FRIEND" also may not need to mean your "best bud"
