You need to load the drivers for your network card, without this you have nothing. Do not do anything to the router or modem, once the card is working the internet will work. You could download the drivers for the card ffrom the manufacturer's site on another machine and save to flash or burn to cd. To print to another machine's printer on your own network simply needs you to right click and share the printer, then set the file and printer sharing exception on in the firewall. You can then browse for the printer. Over the internet is quite difficult to set up.

Colinc has the correct information for you but if you get a print server for your printer and set it up with its own IP you can indeed reach the printer from the internet.

You will need to set your router to allow it to be reached. *You will need to see which ports are used by the print server and forward those ports.

The other advantage of a print server is that is you do not have to have a computer connected to the printer in order to reach it from other machines on the local network.
