It shouldn't be lowered or dropped at all. If anything it should be raised to 18 years old. Or at the very least require longer on-the-road training.

No, if anything it should be raised to ensure that drivers are mature and financially responsible before taking the lives of others in their hands due to potentially reckless driving that 16-18 year old have a high statistical probability of doing.

I grew up in South Dakota and the age to have a restricted permit (without adult supervision) was 14. I never had a ticket until I was 20. Did I see a lot of other 14 yr olds wreck? No.

NO!! 16 is almost too young. For boys it's when their hormones are raging and causes them to drive more irractic and girls have too much going on with phones and makeup.
