Shoaib Akhtar of Pakistan bowled the fastest ever ball in the history of international cricket when he bowled to Nick Knite of England in a world cup match in 2003 and the venue was South Africa. His ball was clocked at 161.3 k/h or 100.4 mph. He bowled with the same speed in the very next over to the same batsman. For your information this ball speed measurement is not officially recognized by the cricket governing body i. e ICC and is just sponsored by some multinational companies for the amusement of cricket lovers..

The official fastest delivery is by Jeff Thompson. shoaib did bowled faster than jeff twice in a match against NZL but it was not considered official bcos there was no official measuring device available.

Jeff Thomson did not achieve this in a match but in a competition where it is officially recorded

It was definitely Pakistan's Shoaib Akhtar. He bowled at 161 kph (100mph) in 2002. Brett Lee is the second fastest with 157.4 kph (97.8mph).

You can see a list of the fastest speeds on the link below.

ya S.akthar bowld 161 against nz and it was d highest speed recorded..But i`m not sure whethr it wud be highest speed in cricket history as some wud hav been not recorded r some may not been taken in2 account..AS for 2nd highest speed, recently Shaun Tait bowled at 160 kph against nz.......I don`t think any1 saw it..Similarly some highest speeds may hav been missed..Also in case if it`s an no-ball..
