Racism hiding racism?
I'm going to give you 2 samples
.
1. Girl from South Africa moved into our house because she used to live alone & wanted to have company. Despite making her feel welcome & treated her no differtly from each other, she moved out saying she was lonely (despite chatting to her every time she came and went in the house, I’m the chatterbox of the house and often say otter nonsense to get people talking). She was always making nasty comments about the about the Korean house mate (a shy and nice girl) but I took down do hating noise at 2 in the morning (the Korean girl is a night owl). She now won’t talk to us and only talks to people her own colour, we were upset & a little insulted that she suggested we were excluding her.
2. I’m friends with a French girl who lived with Italians but was always ignored because of her different culture & the Italians blamed her for her exclusion. I was invited to a party but these Italians would not speck to me & barley to her, (an hour of this was horrible but I felt it would be rude to leave) we danced, I attempted to make idle chit chat but it was rely frustrating. I think only a German guy managed to talk to me because he liked my guts (only English speaker) attending a party of international; students. A few days later the Italians were moaning that they are being excluded by the native English speakers & we were all racist. I got really annoyed because after trying to be friendly when in their house, two parties & attempts to engage with them, they still refused to even acknowledge my existence. They excluded anyone who was not willing or unable (me) to relate to them in every way.
I know i'm not racist I may be a little clueless to other cultures at times but we are all guilty of that. Both cases state that all English speaker are racist this hurtful to any English speaker who attempt to socalise with everyone equal but I’m annoyed with them claming racism when do hide where own racism.
So how to we get along when we won’t put away our own misconceptions?
I hate to use titles like Italian, french est. but only way I could illustrate the issue without suggesting names.

I think it's pretty common and sounds like the people you described, that the ones who scream racism are actually the racists themselves. Which is totally crazy, in my opinion, people come in all colors, white, beige, tan, brown, black, red, yellow, and green. (olive tones). We're all different and that's what's interesting. how boring if we were all light brown and had the exact same cultural values. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. It's good that you try and treat everyone the same, but unfortunately, you won't be able to change other people's pre-formed opinions.

No..I believe Racism gets less by day but it will never completely go away unfortunatly oh and being brought up by racist parents isnt an excuse you have your own brain you can think for yourself.. I think racism is disgusting and useless..I dont like to make people feel bad about themself I have friends from all races and all I see are their hot asses and great personalities :) If I could I would stop racism but atleast its getting better even though its may be a slow process I believe in a few years it already will be a lot better :) I feel bad for everyone who expiernced racism..but I just want to say dont blame a ethnic group of bilion people cus there are a few retards..

Language is a huge barrier to overcome as is real cultural differences. I think racism is often used as an excuse for rudeness or people disliking someone because they are different from them for what ever reason. I've had certain problems that would put me apart from most people and been somewhat victimised because of my difference. If I was black I would possibly be saying this is due to racism but since I am not I don't have that to fall back on. Sometimes the racism claim is a crock. sometimes.

when i meet someone i see some eyes, perhaps a smile; if we have a language in common it helps. i've been in many countries. i've been given help by people who didn't know me or have anything to gain by that help, especially if they gave me food that they could ill spare. i've also received ill treatment from people (usually "the authorities"). this goes for my "own" country as well as others. the idea of different races, colours, religions comes from us not "the others". we decide who is "other", they are not inherently "other". where does it stop? if you're from another country? in the small town where i live, there's a gent in his eighties who moved here when he was five; he's still "sid from woodford". woodford's about three miles away! all people are more similar than different; all people (indeed all beings) strive for happiness and to avoid suffering

I look at it this way obnoxious people cross all race, ethnic & sexual preferences boundaries.
Obnoxious people will play 'the card' if they can get attention or cause harm to others because they are just plain mean spirited.
There is no law against obnoxious people because they couldn't build a city big enough to hold them all in but that is the real problem.

You have a bunch of weird friends and they all have serious attitude problems. They all think they're better than everyone else in the world, but they are in a very diverse living situation. Very strange. Save your money and find an apartment where you can live alone.

many of my immature 7th grade classmates joke about racism. like how a few of them made a new version of the song "this is why im hot" calling it the "this is why im white" song. i know they are joking because they are white but i dont think a new version of the song was nessary
another was how this african american girl who always says "my daddy bought it for me" and the boys (the same ones from the previous exmple) call her the "black paris hilton"

Your friends/room mates are not cool. Get your own flat and find new friends. You seem like a very kind, well rounded person, and you can do better than these losers.

I'm not a racist. I'm a sizeist. this lovely country of ours is just not big enough to keep taking people who are coming here for a free ride. so I'm not saying send them all back to their mother land. I'm saying lets stop any more freeloaders come in. if they did not get benefits and free housing they would not come.
