I use NetLimiter2 Pro. Easy to use and very good protection.
It is "free" if you download it from torrent...

An excellent free firewall is Comodo Personal Firewall. It can pass firewall "leak tests" that even most of the "paid-for" firewalls cannot pass.

I have used the free version of, ZoneAlarm since computers first came out into the market. They have a really excellent software that will protect you from rouge packet incoming and keep your personal data in your pc. You get all new versions free and daily updates when needed. You don't even have to remove the old version as the new version will download automatic and over-write the old version.
Always best to perform what is known as a clean install. Zone Alarm advise that you don't allow them to copy what you have authorized in your older version Better to authorize what you want incoming and tell the software to remember so zone alarm does not ask you again.

I use comodo pro, it doesnt leak not like windows firewall leaks like a sieve.
