i hav my period can i still go swimming. my frend has a swimming party and it is for 3 hours and i kept on telling her i can go and she doesn't know bout my period and i want to go swimming badly like badly i hav to go can i still go swimming? wit my period

I don't know if you have your first sexual experience but if you are not DO NOT LET A TAMPON TO BE YOUR FIRST TIME!!! i am an athlete in swimming and i have talk with my coach about this problem and he assured me that i can still go to swim when i have my period (if i didn't go for swimming when i have my period my performances where very lower). sURE YOU CAN GO TO THE SWIM PARTY because when you go into the water your period stops Just when you arrive to the house of your friend go to the bathroom to put of your pant. Then quicly go and make a BIG splash to the pool!!!

you really would not wanna embarrass yourself when you realize the water goes a weird colour
plus swimming while you have your period will make stomach cramps more worser and another thing if your wearing a swimming costume how are you meant to wear a pad underneath-it will be well noticeable if you did!!
tell your friend you dont feel like swimming and then when your in private tell her your real reason if you want.....i know how you feel coz i was in the same situation as you but at the end im glad i didnt swim...........

If you have your period and want to go swimming, you need to use a tampon, instead of a pad, to collect your menstrual (period) blood. Enjoy the party!

welcome to the world of tampons. wearing a tampon in the pool is ok. as long as you wear it properly you can swim just like you weren't on your period.

Just make sure you change is every 3-4 hours. or more depending on how heavy your period is.

Of course you can go swimming. I'd perferably use a tampon though, because pads will just get a wet and soggy, and that's not very good protection!

you can't go swimming unless you use a tampon, but if you haven't had your period for a while, using a tampon might be diffcult. As much as you might want to go swimming, you might have to sit this one out. Bummer, i know. Good luck.

well learn to use a tampon.. but the time that happened to me I was like 9 and just hung around the pool and dangled my feet in the water. I just didn't feel good enough enjoy to play.

yeah use a tampon. but be sure to direct it toward your LOWER BACK and not strait up. I did my first time and it hurt like a mother. Have fun swimming =]!
