Visit the Nvidia website and download the latest drivers, if you are faced with the same problem then uninstall the drivers and then download and install the older drivers, older drivers might be for a slightly different card or if possible a couple of version numbers older. When the screen lags it's the intergrated graphics processor controlling the display and this doesn't have the power to produce fluid motion.

It really depends on your preference really....

The X1950 IS FASTER is most cases than the 8800GTS. However, the GeForce8800GTS does support DirectX10.

If you want faster games but less eye-candy in the future (Due to DX10 games coming soon.) , then the X1950 is the choice.

If you want better umm, compability (Meaning games will show it's full capability) then choose the GeForce8800GTS.

This is going to be partially about personal preference. But I would go with the ATI card for 2 reasons. It's not overclocked which means it's more likely not to overheat, and it has more memory and that will help with graphics rendering.

ATI would be my choice by maker. Its really the cards your comparing in research. Which has a differential in Mbytes. Find a 512 in Nvidia and check the specs.

both are good brands to me. I have a ATI which works great , it also depends on your PC
