There is someone who posts, questions. Asking anyone to submit, short stories. Yet she get entires from people who disguise "The Four-Letter word".
There was someone, who asked for traits, from each Party. Two SEPERATE Quesitons. about The Two Party's. Yet, she gets attacks. Along the same nature. Using disrespect to other Posts.
There's a Gentleman, who Posts, Political Questions, Using Rock-n-Roll Lyrics. Yet he's attack, slandered, and shown may sorts of degrading names.
Now I'm being shown that I must allow people to call My President names. Under the Freedom of Informatin. I have to except it.
But can I NOT, stand up for my Friends? And for those are aren't wanting, needing, or deserving these Personnal attacks?
Then how can I get the message out to all of those that agree with me. without them causing anymore hardships on those that do not deserve it?
How can we rid this Site, of all of this anger towards Our Fellow AMERICANS!!!?

Just The Facts: With all due respect. I'm only talking about degrading OTHER POSTS!! (My friends) I haven't seen such language to those that offer a Liberal point of view.

Personal Note! I see all of the very Friends that I'm standing up for. Saying they can handle the abuse themselves. I wish all who consider me, their Friend. To know that I appreciate all that you do here. God Bless each and every one.

All of us from The Reverend's corner respect him...his opinions..and his questions. They tend to take the sting out of politics. And I do know the other person you are referring to.
Neither of these people deserve the disrespect that some dish out. But then again...neither do you!
To rid the site of the anger....we would have to remove, COMPLETELY, the Politics section. There is no happy medium for people when it comes to Politics.
Unfortunately....the people who have been posting the angry, hate-filled posts....have that right....as long as they are Americans....it's that Constitution thing!
But when it gets to the point of almost slander....well that's another story!
And unless we can find a way to remove the 'emotions' in people...then you will always get opposing opinions.
The personal attacks is (and here comes the thumbs down) a result of either ignorance or arrogance.
But hey.....we just have to keep supporting those who we consider friends...support goes a LONG way!

All I can say is that it takes two to tango. Neither side will stop all the name calling. If it was possible for one side to totally and absolutely stop all the name calling and insults for a specific period of time, I dare say the other side would be business as usual. I can call names and insult with the best of them but I can also respond to questions in a civil manner. I feel that most people on this site are that way. If a sincere attempt was made by all to cease and desist the name calling, it could probably be done. How do you propose to convince the ones that have ORGASMS on this site simply by being able to call others names and insult them from their keyboards to stop all the nonsense?

lol. You should have been here for the November elections. This is mild in comparison.
This is my 4th account in a year. It's pretty hard to hold on to an account with all the troll activity that goes on in the political section. There are a lot less people, however, who engage in personal attacks than there used to be. Yahoo! has been pretty tough lately in trying to curtail the insulting.
One of the problems in a forum like this one is that it lacks face-to-face contact. A lot of communication depends on tonal inflection and body language. Most people don't know how to communicate an entire thought in the written word. Sarcasm, as example, can't be expressed well in writing. This leads many people to jump to conclusions.
But, there also seems to be a lot of grumpy people who show up here. They seem to take their frustrations with politics out on this board.

I don't know why people just can't leave other people alone.I mean honestly who cares what goes on here as long as you can get a good laugh now and then right? And too many people use that abuse button for stupid reasons.Personally I don't. I guess if I thought my life depended on the answers I recieved or give I might feel different but I don't take too much to heart as long as it's in fun and I learn something along the way.Maybe everybody just needs to chill huh and not take things so personal.I pretty much like everybody on here and enjoy the knowledge I gain.Too much anger and revenge just hurts the soul. And stops the fun.I LIKE FUN don't you? Lifes a game learn to enjoy it and RELAX.

We'll never rid this site of the anger and hate spewing as long as there are angry, hate spewing people allowed to post. It comes from extreme views from both sides. For example: How hard is it to disagree with the president without insulting the office? Not hard at all; Until someone accuses the person in opposition of hating our country/troops/babies etc. Do you see the vicious cycle I'm referring to?

Well, Hun, about all you can do so far, is to email someone who is being cruel to your friends, and tell them off, if you want, so you don't get reported. This site is supposed to be for ideas, and free-speech, but it isn't. I think you should blame Yahoo! themselves, for allowing people who act like children to report others, without proof, at times. I have been reported just for having a different opinion, and I swear, I didn't cuss that time! I just called the questioner Miss Uninformed. LOL
Really, though, Buzz, I am sure your friends can take care of themselves. You don't need to put yourself in harms way (get reported). Most of us are adults, I think here, and take on the crap alone. We will be okay, and thank you for caring. You're a nice person.
Bill Gates might buy Yahoo! and change things. We'll see. Don't worry, be happy! (There's a song written called that, listen to it more often! LOL)!

I try to always post intelligent questions and well planned and fact based opinion answers.
For that, I get emails to my personal account that contain foul language and even threats. I receive violation notices because I respond with a different view point to that of the questions poster.
You must understand... that for every one person here that wants to debate and have fun, there are 20 trolls that are just here to inflame the boards, talk trash, beat up on people and to use profanity and hit the violations button to get their jollys.

Dear, sweet Buzzard, I believe you may be referring to me, as the person who posts my beloved, "Paragragh Questions, as I call them. I have several thoughts to offer.
1. I get SUCH a kick out posting these questions.
2. I LOVE reading the posts.
3. I get a BIGGER kick out of answering those questions, which, like mine, ask for a story to be written.
When I write a story, I POUR my imagination into it...my energy level kicks up another 2 levels. On at least two occasions, I have erased an entire story and had to rewrite the entire thing....this happened AGAIN, last night!!!
No matter HOW many people email me ,telling me how they nearly wet their pants because they were laughing so hard( and I truely did have some folks tell me this) >>>>>>>>>>>>>
I ALWAYS get TWO Thumbs Downs within two minutes of posting.
Does this deter me???? Of course not. They are excercising their rights. Does it hurt me?? It used to bother me,I will be honest. Anymore I smile and tip my hat to them.......this is AMERICA......thank GOD we live in a free society.
Do I wish the name calling and hurtful slurs would stop? Yes, indeed.
I come to YA to relax and to create. I once wrote SIX stories in one night. I had a BALL!!!!!!
Please do not even consider leaving this fun site. Recognize it for what it is.....a place to have fun and even.......grow!! I am learning, at age 58, that I do not need to respond to everyone who has chosen to dislike me. I do NOT need to express EVERYTHING that I am feeling.
I , and I alone, will dictate just how calm and happy OR distressed /miserable I will be.
I am getting WAY too "wordy." Forgive me,please.
Buzz....you have a kind and gentle soul........no one can touch it unless you allow them to.

whether you notice it or not,it happens on both sides. there are two possible solutions.
1. yahoo brings back the message boards,at least there no one was losing accounts over violations. reporting others was a waste of time.
2. follow the rules here and everyone act civilized and intelligent.
niether is likely to happen,so all we can do is take responsibility for our own actions.

I know the 2 people you are referring to . One is me and the other is a far better person than me who deserves nothing but kind words . She wouldn't hurt a flea and yet she got those disparaging remarks on an innocent question .
Unfortunately , we cannot do anything about, because Yahoo has the power and not us . Maybe Microsoft will buy Yahoo and change management . They're currently putting an offer together .
In the meantime, the best we can do is set the right examples of behavior for others to learn and follow . But remember, there are hateful, crazy people who have no respect for themselves, and as a result , they'll continue showing no respect for others !!
EDIT*- BTW, it should be noted that what liberals call hate mail or hateful answers, is very different from reality . Countless times they'll call a Conservative hateful simply because their ideology is different . Here's a Great Example for all.. . . . . . .. Recently a Liberal did not answer my posted question(no big surprise) so I emailed him this " I respectfully ask that you go back and respectfully answer my question". . . . . and you wanna know what he sent back ? His reply was classic liberalism. . .He said " HARRASSMENT" and to never email him again . Yep !! Harrassment !! What a complete joke !!
