240 feet away it great range for any router. There is absolutly nothing to fix.
If you need greater range there are a few options, the best being installing a range extender a about 200 feet in the direction you want to extend the range.

You can buy repeater stations to extend the range of your router. Ask at a large computer shop
The other simple alternative is raise the router up. The higher it is the greater the range. Put it upstairs it will increase the range by quite a bit.

A booster aerial. 80m away from the router is quite a distance, you're at the limit of the wireless range with a laptop.

Be sure router is at full power setting. Try to reorient router for best signal radiation towards laptop. Some DIY reflectors could improve signal radiation towards laptop. Otherwise, you might need one of those special directional antenna for your router.
These might help:

I don't think you can fix this, because you might just be at your router's maximum range, if you want more wireless range, get wireless range extenders installed throughout your home/business.
