There must be information for what you need for your county or city or state. Call the main number for your town and tell them what you need and ask them to give you the number to get in touch with the right people. You make have to make more than one call; so don't get discouraged.
Maybe they have a board of Pharmacy or something close.
Good luck. Don't give up your dream.

Basic wage will depend on your state, in Texas you start at about 10. ( give or take ) go to the ptcb site, theres a survery link on one of the tabs. Click it. Then at the bottom it says already took the survey or results, click it. It has all the states and peoples input on jobs!!

Depending on your state, start looking for training programs at the local colleges, and Jr Colleges. Ive know people that trained in stores, that had a hard time passing the PTCB ( pharmacy Tech Certification Board) test. I went the Lamar U. In Beaumont Texas, and I found that the coarse did help me pass the exam. I don't think i would have passed if I had just got the book and taught myself at home. The math that makes up I'd guess over 75% of the test is hard. Not that its hard to actually work the problems once set up, which is usually just multiplication and dividing, but knowing what means what in the problems to set it up is the issue!! There is a practice exam on the PTCB.org website. But I really urge you to go thru a program! But look for a cram coarse. Here they offered a semesters worth of information in 2 mths. But at least there was a Pharmacist teaching the class that can tell you thing that ACTUALLY ( lol ) happen and not just scenarios in the books. Once you pass the PTCB ( national certification test ) make sure that you check to see if your state requires you to register with them as well, before you can work! I passed my test in March. and had to register with the state of Texas. I just got a job at CVS!! woohoo ( go me ! ) If you need any help, or any learning materials let me know. mich_21mn is my id on yahoo, I'd he happy to help you!

For a certified pharm tech at a retail pharmacy, $10 per hour. You do not need to take any course for certification. You'll end up wasting money. Buy yourself a review book and teach yourself.
