I know this is a silly question but just wondering when you ovulate is it 14 days when from when you start or finish?

I was told, since I was 11 and first started my period, that you count 28 days after your period ends.
Doing that, I was every 28 days.
BUT, I've been seeing that you should count it the day your period starts.

...starting from the first day of your period.....when I was going through fertility specialists they also said if you start your period at night then you count the following day as your first day of you're period.
