Al Qaida doesn't exist in the way normal terrorist groups exist. It's just a loosely knit idea apparently. Al Qaida may or may not have caused 9/11, it may or may not have been behind a thousand bombings in Iraq, it may or may not have spokesmen, it may or may not even exist.

I haven't seen a shred of proof that Al Qaida exists. I think it's a fabrication. I think it's a scare tactic, a boogeyman, to put cowards under control. I think the bombings in Iraq are deliberately being caused by Intelligence Services and blamed on Moslems. And I think this is getting pretty obvious now.

Am I supposed to believe, like conservatives and liberals alike do, that Al Qaida actually exists?

As a young man first starting out in a machine shop I couldn't figure out a complicated problem, so I approach a old, experienced machinist and explained what was going wrong and I proudly explained what I thought was an equally complicated solution.

He told me "Stop chasing ghosts" The experienced man was right.

Bushco has created a "ghost" in Al-Quida...here today, gone tomorrow...we're still chasing them... they are possibly doing this, possibly doing that..(remember those lame "CODE ORANGE alerts from a few years ago and how they suddenly stopped after Karl (Wag the Dog) Rove realized they weren't working any more...remember those?)

the fact is no other administration has EVER been so ineffective in dealing with terrorists <<<<<<>>>>>>

and I think you hit the nail right on the head, yes, there are Al-Quida terrorists but NOTHING like the ghosts Bushco has made them out to be.

surely it really is not the Bush administration's proudest fabrication. Al Qaeda's origins date lower back to 1979, at the same time as Zbigniew Brezezinski, Jimmy Carter's nationwide safe practices consultant (and co-founding father of the Trilateral Commision) develop into orchestrating the Afghan area of the Afghan/Soviet conflict. CIA funded and educated the Mudjahudeen lower back in lately...the survivors of which finally developed into Al Qaeda.

Actually it isn't the Bush administration's proudest fabrication. Al Qaeda's origins date back to 1979, when Zbigniew Brezezinski, Jimmy Carter's National Security Advisor (and co-founder of the Trilateral Commision) was orchestrating the Afghan side of the Afghan/Soviet war. CIA funded and trained the Mudjahudeen back in those days...the survivors of which eventually evolved into Al Qaeda.

You can believe whatever you want. You can believe the sky is green that doesn't make it true. Our government funded Bin Laden and his freedom fighters in the late 70's in Afghanistan's war against Russia. Bin Ladens freedom fighters being the predecessor to Al Qaida. So yes they do exist in some form, loosely knit terror group or not.

It's not a fabrication, as someone else stated we helped train and fund BinLaden's group when he was fighting against the Russians.

However we have elevated their status from a bunch of thugs in a gang, kind of like a crime syndicate, to an international force. If we went after them like a crime syndicate I think we'd get much much better results.
