Don't compare things like the problems facing the nation or the fact that he's dead (duh). Try and grasp the person himself, George Washington, what was he like and how did he think? That is what makes a President great.

Ron Paul (R).

I don't think we can compare, these days the candidates must appease their contributors to such an extent that it is pretty near impossible to know what they actually stand for, they have all been in favor of something before they opposed it but now they changed their minds again.....with the possible exceptions of Ron Paul (R) and Dennis Kucinich (D) who are out there on principle (whether you agree with them or not) and who everyone knows have absolutely no chance of getting even close to the presidency.

Although since our American revolution was kind of about being sure that business profits did not go over to England but rather stayed here with the businessmen, perhaps the business/corporate donor influence does bear some resemblance to revolutionary times? Sorry, more questions than answere here.

I don't think that any of the current presidential hopefuls can be compared to Washington. Circumstances are very different from what they were when the United States was established in the 18th century. America was a struggling young nation back then. Now it is a superpower. Also, the issues today's candidates face are very different.

None can be even loosely compared to Washington. All we have these days is a bunch of power and money hungry puppets. This would apply to both parties.

At the time of Washington the parties where not the thing
there were many parties and there was no money to corrupt them. He was a true patriot.

Sorry but none of them. There isn't a single qualified one at this time.

The only ones who are qualified have even said "Not in a million years!"
