They blame the oil companies for the destruction of the environment and try to put them out of business then demand all of their products at lower prices.

Actually, they don't demand low prices, they demand fair trade practices from the companies. Price gouging is illegal, as is manipulating the markets to create windfall profits.

What they demand are (A) oil companies pay their own way by cleaning up their messes and not sucking our tax dollars while making record profits, and (B) they operate in a manner that allows for open market competition - you know, that whole "capitalism" and "let the market decide" thing that conservatives supposedly favor?

It's always easy to knock down and refute an opposing argument when it doesn't exist and you make it up yourself.

And this has what to do with "hypocrisy?"

Sorry, I don't see the connection...

As regards the "destruction of the environment," we're all guilty, regardless of political philosophy.

We've all been seduced by "progress" and various kinds of "pursuit of happiness."

Now we're discovering that "suburbia" is not everything it's cracked-up to be.

Some folks are opting to make their own individual contributions in a wide variety of ways:

- driving less
- recycling paper, aluminum, glass, etc.
- installing energy efficient equipment and windows
- using fluorescent lighting
- installing solar panels (electrical or water)

This is nothing to ridicule or scoff at; it should be considered "responsible" behavior - something cons seem to like to harp about.

I was once told by someone within the oil industry,"you won't see real widespread use of alternative energies or fuels until every bit of oil and coal are used-up."

That's a real depressing prediction for our planet...

Do as I say, not as I do.

They truly believe they are intellectually and morally superior and that the rules should only apply to the subjects of their rule.

There is a lot of confusion between who is who, the useful idiots who support and repeat the party lines insanity, and the vanguard of the elite for whom the rules of others do not apply.

The primary hypocrisy you see here on Y!A and in the news are the useful idiots, the brainwashed who believe what the VGOE are telling them, which of course are primarily lies and that is why the useful idiots always look hypocritical.

Most of the ruling elite will not let you pin them down to a position, Gore being one of the exceptions but he is on the outs and is no more in the inner circle of the Socialists.

People avoid responding truthfully for one of two reasons, they either do not know and do not want to appear stupid or ignorant..........or they know the truthful answer will show them for what they really are which of course they must conceal for the LIE to continue and their position in the elite remain secure.

Either way inherent dishonesty is a character trait they all seem to have.

All married politicians are hypocrites at the same time as they have affairs. the distinction is that the GOP is meant to be the team who adheres to and preaches about kin values/morality and then makes each and every attempt to eliminate the rights of others.

Wasn't gas cheaper ten years ago before oil companies could drill in environmentally protected land?

Liberals live in a fantasy world. Their answer to every problem is more laws. They make these laws for us to follow, they, on the other hand are exempt from them because they are so much more superior than we are.

Maybe they're all closet republicans. Who speak of the sanctity of marriage then have extramarital affairs like Newt or purchase prescription drugs illegally like Rush, or solicit congressional pages for gay underage sex.

Liberals want two things: they want government to run everything and they want to run the government. They don't seem to care what they have to do to accomplish their goals.
