Cordless drill hasn't got enough power for concrete. You need a power hammer drill and masonry bit to break the concrete up when drilling.

If the cordless drill doesn't have a "hammer drill" option it will be very difficult to penetrate concrete. I bought my brother a Dewalt 18v with hammer drill option. It works fantstic for a cordless.
Also, if you get up against a piece of rebar, hammer drill or not, you're going nowhere!
Good luck.

your drill should be a hammer drill and you must use a concrete bit.

with the proper drill and bit it will be like drilling into butter; unless you hit a piece of rebar. good luck
