Any law violates the constitution and is an attempt to subjegate the populace.

Unless you have used a firearm, or other weapon in a crime to violate anothers rights to life, liberty, or happiness, then I would say you should be able to have the right to keep and bear arms.
I would also make it legal for groups to become self militia, so long as they did not force their ideals on others, and stood ready to defend the States they reside in, if time came for them to defend the freedoms of the populace of that State and our great country.
If a person is FOUND to have a mental illness, it is the doctors responsibility to determine if a person is fit for handling weapons.
This is not something you can hold to the individual to determine.

I would keep it very similar to how it is here in Aus - you better have a good reason and a permit. However, I would take make automatics and semi-automatics out, as I think the only people that really need them are protective forces and people in the country/bush.

criminals and crazys never get one. If they get caught with one, summary execution. Everyone else, within reason, no restrictions on owning or carrying.

pass an amendment removing that silly "militia" clause from the second amendment..."the right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT be infringed"....is all it would say....that exact enough for you?
