Generally the parents start teaching the child when that child is young, but most people learn ethics in life in general. The child has to eventually find out for himself/herself. The process is sometimes hard to take in, considering that many of the kids at school as well as the teachers may seem like they have horrible ethics. Also, even though the kid has to learn much of it on his/her own, the parents, though they are both working, must be sure to at least play the role of a parent enough to teach the child the basics (most of this subject is talked about in the subject of nature v. nurture).

Even working parents must find time to spend with their children to instill proper morals and values in them. Just because a parent is at work, doesn't mean he or she can't communicate with their child. If the child is old enough to have a cell phone, the parents should call their child during lunch hour or immediately after school. Or send an email if the child attends a school that allows email access. On weekends, parents and children should be spending a lot of quality time with one another where values and morals are constantly taught and key questions are answered by the parents.

No family has both parents working 24/7. Nor do the kids go to school from the day they are born.
Parents teach morals. Schools shouldn't do it. They shouldn't have to do it. Unfortunately, there are far too many people who think, "My kid's in school my job is pretty much done 'til summer".

Well, who raises the children when school is finished for the day?

Morals should be developed at all stages in life, although most should come from parents, schools need to support moral development, if not just to stop the kids running riot!!

That is putting a big burden on teachers that should be the parent's responsibility. A teacher has a student approx 5 hours a week. The parents have the child for approx 120 hours a week. Children learn from their parent's behavior
P.S.: this doesn't include the summer time when school is out.

Teachers are educators they are not mum and dad. It's the parents responsibility to raise their children to the best of their ability whether they work or not parents should teach their children moral ethics. Sorry but I find your question weird and ignorant.

If you are working so hard that you don't have time to be a parent, you don't need to have kids.

If you are to busy to raise your own children and want to pawn your responsibility off on the school system, then I think you really shouldnt have children.

It kills me how some parents are always tossing their responsibilities off on others...

You=Not you personally....
