Probably rash liberalism which the fogies will sneer at and plot against until the nation turns Neoneocon.
Keep in mind that a "generation" of politics in America is about seven years, after which all the politicians are found to have been diddling Marilyn Monroes and will be forced to pay for their own "massages" in the future.
Happens all the time. I've lived through five or six swings of the pendulum now, and I can tell you it's all the same old same old over and over.
Politics is a great game, and the players and styles of uniform change over time, but the rules have stayed about the same since Demosthenes was a stuttering fool.

I shudder to think. Politicians appear to be so out of touch with the average person these days that it is just disturbing. Then you couple it with the sheer nastiness of people towards their fellow man in our current society and it just doesn't bode well. It doesn't have to be a self fulfilling prophesy though. As a people we can save ourselves. The first step is to rise above the destructive divisive nature of our current political scheme and come together under a common banner which honestly addresses the issues which face us all, rather than attacking each other unnecessarily for the simple non crime of having different opinions. In the end we get the government we vote for.
