Your question leaves me quite perplexed ! Are you speaking of the makings of a sandwich? or the filling of a pie or cake......The ideas all came from the mother of invention..........someone says to themselves I 'm going to fry those potatoes , the next time they think I wonder what onions would taste like with them and then comes ....Oh Man! let's put this on some bread....waa laa! You have a fried onion and potato sandwich.
.....Imagination....is the inventor ........

I really hope this isn't for an English exam! Your question makes no sense! Where do fillings come from? Fillings for what? Baked potatoes/teeth/sandwiches/potholes? What is food? Meat, veg or pulses usually! They all come from either animals or the ground. I'd really love to help but I think you need to make your requirements a little clearer!

food comes from the need to eat and therefore to survive, mankind tried to eat everything at first but many things like rocks and Belladonna killed them, so they learnt what not to eat from this.
Fillings came from necessity like the sandwich, where the Earl of Sandwich needed to eat whilst playing cards so he a filling of meat enveloped by bread to keep his hands dry.
