I acually love Pink Floyd's Meddle and Wish You Were Here more.
Meddle is such an underrated album, Dark Side was good, but I think the lost of a bit oftheir wild experimentaion sound of their earlier days, which I loved.
But right now, I'm having a morbid obsession with Blackfield II by Blackfield. It's just such a beautiful album.

sgt pepper lonely hearts club band from the beatles.
that album was experimental, the beatles takes the risk to create something no matter if people likes it, the result was a real masterpiece, very original, microphones hidden in boxes, underwater effects, musical instruments not traditionals to rock music, sound effects, no pause between the tracks, first album recorded at different frequencies (there is a track that only a dog can hear). first album with lyrics with color cutouts and lyrics, "a day in the life" is the mix Lennon / McCartney creativity (2 very different songs in one). I think is just great, the best album ever.

My opinion is The Rolling Stones "Beggars Banquet".
It defined Rock Music. Includes two Rock Anthems
Street Fighting Man and Sympathy For The Devil
Ziggy Stardust ( Bowie )
Speaking in Tongues ( Talking Heads )
Prefer "Wish you Where Here" to "Darkside of the Moon"
but good choice.

Yes Darkside Of The Moon is certainly a good album.
Fleetwood Mac's Rumours is also good.
I also think Jennifer Warnes -- Famous Blue Raincoat is one of the finest.
As is Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by the Flaming Lips.

I believe I would have to go with Moving Pictures by Rush. That album came out during the prime of their careers. They were deeply into the music they were writing as well as some of the most accomplished and influential musicians of their time. Not only are the parts somewhat difficult to play for each of the band members but for them to play in sync with one another is that much more amazing. I do not know of another album impressing me as much as Moving Pictures.

Marvin Gaye's Whats going on is a pure soul classic with delightful sounds coupled with meaningful lyrics that is still relevant today.
I personally think that the Floyd lost the plot and went commercial when they got rid of Syd

Best album for me, by far.
