The following is part of a Native American House Blessing:

May this home be a good place for us to live,
May our lives be long and may we have love in this home.
May we live in this home happily and peacefully and with respect.
myself, (my wife, my children,) my relatives, whomever may come into this home, may they relax peacefully and rest.. May all of us maintain perfect, vibrant health.
All above me, may it be happy; All around me, may it be happy; and
May our home be filled with peace, harmony and love.

Clean the skirting boards, under the washing machine and cooker (you won;t do this again until you move or buy a ndw machine) and check the plumbing. Try to remember to put the kettle and tea/coffee making equipment on the top, so you can have a cuppa when you get there and make making your bed the first thing you do. You won't feel like doing it at the end of what is usually and hugely busy day!

Not to walk under a ladder, not to break a mirror, not to wear white hair ornaments because white symbolizes death, not to wear sock as you sleep, and to say bless you after sneezing are some superstitions. The number 4 and the number 13 are sometimes considered unlucky depending on the culture.

Do not bring a broom from your old home to your new one. It's considered bad luck but I'm not really certain why. Just a superstition.
