It is like someone close to you dieing, you miss them terr ably but the pain that you feel subsides eventually, It does not mean that you no longer love them or care for them it means that you have to move on with your own life. You have friends and they move away so you make new friends and they move away so you make new friends but you never actually forget your old friends because if you ever meet up again then you are so pleased to see them and have a good chat. That's called living your life .

What a briiliant question! You have simply tapped into your 'inner strength' and used it to adjust to what is really a deep personal issue for you albeit not a life threatening one. It is what is called 'being in touch with yourself' and if these philosophies progress throughout your life, you should have a long and happy one. Yes, time does heal but emotions remain very personal and your friend will always have a part in your heart ... your are simply being rational about it. It is when people fail to remain rational that things go wrong .... anxiety, depression, physical illness ...... you can clearly do this and a big star for you!

i also have had this happen to me, i had a good freind that i saw day in day out for years and then we drifted apart, i to also learnt to live without her. I think we manage it as people do just grow apart. You make new friends, get a new partner have famalies, all sorts and then we slowly forget about the past. This is how i feel anyway

Because she probably taught you things that could be useful. When you didnt have anyone, you found her and became more and more independent. Sometimes letting go makes you a stronger person because you've dealt with mistakes doing it with your friend, and now you're without her and you remember the mistakes you have done with her.
Anywho, I hope you understood. Im happy for you and I wish I were stronger like that.

You're happy because you have healed. You have learned to become independant and you have come to terms with your self-worth which you obviously didn't see when you needed your friend so desperately. Everyone needs friends no doubt but being so extreme about it that you can't live without them is psychotic.

Throughout life we all have different friends. I always feel as thou certain people are in our lives at certain times as they are suppose to be (FATE) lessons, certain situations require certain friends to be there at that particular time. Life constantly keeps moving on. It can be sad when we drift away from particular friends but maybe this is what is meant to be? Just go with the flow. New people will re enter your life, and you will understand then it is time to move on.
