people who are inferior in moral values think like that. all living beings are equal that was why it was said AATMAVAT SARVA BHUTANI" (soul exists in all beings.)

I like animals more than I like humans generally, but I do not believe they're our 'equals' - they're not that unlucky!
There is no doubt that humans are more highly evolved, and I do think we were meant to eat animals. All living beings on this planet eat each other, it's the circle of life. Just a shame the way we go about it, with mass production and inhumane treatment. We should always strive to make conditions for feed animals better - just because we're going to eat them shouldn't mean they have to suffer in life. We should be better than that.
If a child and an animal were drowning, I would understand if someone chose to save the child (though I might chose the animal!) - we have to have loyalty to our own species after all and I think we have to put ourselves first - every species has to do that.
Having said all that, I would have no problem with someone treating an animal as equal to or better than a human. But looking at the way we humans treat our own kind, I don't think animals have much hope of being treated well.
I just hope people understand that pets are NOT there for our benefit - it's supposed to be a mutual thing.

Its is a little bit of two factors...one. in our else years of evolution we were food for many different creatures. all we had was our brains against creatures with sharp teeth and razor claws and we came out on top brains over brawns. Two its an inherant protection method. As an intelegent spieces we must stop other creatures from becoming to intellgent other wise they might put us in to servitude or extinction and take our place and leaders or the world. humans are the top preditors and we had to go through alot to get here if any other animal ever showed our level of intellegence it would most likly be killed so we wouldnt have to share with it. I mean would you stop eating cows if one asked you too or would you just blast it and tose it in the grinder? think about it.

Well to be honest we humans have done so much for animals. Humans are much more intelligent and that is why animals are so mistreated and looked down upon by most. I wish animals were treated equally but I think it depends in what way. You wouldn't want to humanize an animal too much. They do need to be treated like animals - but I do agree, in the best possible way.

Human beings are just a type of animal and not above other animals. Actually many animals are greater than human beings. Only thing, human beings lack a tail. He should rightly put the tie behind the pants on the buttocks and not on chest !

this is my point of view...i believe that animals are in fact smarter than humans. we are taught from birth to conform to society ( which is becoming morally bankrupt as we speak) and to not use the instincts that we were born with. animals live by there instinct. remember the tsunami in srilanka?all of the animals went up hill together, even the crabs went inland. humans were not smart enough to think hmm, maybe i should follow the animals , something is going to happen. there is so much we can learn from animals if we just took the time to observe. animals probably look at humans and think just one word"dumbass" could you blame them?

All animals aside from human beings are considered to be "dumb" because they cannot talk. Whereas some species of animals show considerable intelligence, efforts to prove that these species have the reasoning abilities of human beings have failed. Many of us have a genuine love for animals but thinking of them as being our intellectual and social equals is not really logical.

I dont know..seems to be a prevailing idea among humans..but I for one have known too many animals that were far better at being a horse, dog, cat, chicken etc than most humans are at being their own species. Gotta respect that..:)

u r absolutely right!!!
i agree with u too!!
nowadays people use animals just for their greed
which i think leads to extinction of animals
people kill animals to earn money
there should be equality between every creature!!
this can be done only by making people aware of what r they doing

Look at the animal kingdom. Do lions treat zebras with equality? NO, it's the law of the land. The oceans are worse with 90% of the creatures there killing lesser creatures to survive. There are even plants that eat animals.
Nature itself seems to disagree with you.
