Great chance. What most people don't know is that Italy now has some of the absoloute greatest Talent coming up and rising out of the country faster then most. Players like Giovinco, Aquafresca, Rossi, Balotelli, Santacroce, Chiellini, Montolivo, Okaka Chuka... are just a few to name who are already known internationally and are still in there early 20's with a couple still in there teens... England also have a VERY good chance this World Cup.

Italy might win the world cup if they can get some good young players in the line up. Portugal is never going to win a world cup just like Baggio had said. Italy has many good players. If not Italy it will be Germany or Argentina who win.

As always, Italy is well performing in Euro Under-21 competition, besides Italian football usually manage youngsters only as replacements. I.e. in EPL you can spot many young players in the standard line-up, in Italy this is unlikely to happen. Since this season, having Juve relegated in "serie B", transfer market is more poor than in past season. Many top level teams must hire young Italian players and quickly launch them in the first team. This means our football will grow faster than in the past. But 2010 is too far. To win you need a strong group, team spirited, a great coach, a bit of luck. Those are early prediction only.

I think we might win.. When we won first we won the next world cup after that... When we won third time we lost in the final 4 years later.. I think there may be a double pattern- we won in 2006 so we get to the finals or win in 2010.. Nice thought anyway.. :)

why you people still Say who win. why don;t say whom will by the only team can win Is Italy ; Italy never has to pay the referee to get help to win France they can not win a game but the own the fifa so they take Brazil never beat Italy in a fare e square game If Germany never beat Italy in 4 world cup final there is no team can beat Italy so in 2010 hope Germany will win

It depends if players like Pirlo, Totti, Cannavaro, and Buffon stick around. No one can replace those individuals. Pirlo is the best passer in the world, Totti has the best shot, Cannavaro is the best player in the world (according to FIFA), and Buffon is the best goalie in the world who always gives 110%.
Gattuso is also an unreplaceable bulldog. Forza Azzurri!

u can never tell how well italy will play until euro 2008, most players now r old, and most of them will not be there in 2010... so a smart donadoni wuold start trying out new players (young ones) and start building a new team...
