My daughter gets hysterical when offered either formula or breast milk from the bottle. She originally refused to breastfeed, but since about 2-3 months she has been breastfed and now vehemently refuses to drink from a bottle or cup. She loves to eat multiple types of spoonfed baby food and even cheerios and nurses well, but will NOT eat from a bottle... What are some of the best methods to help us get her back on the bottle? Thanks!

It is actually good she does not want the bottle but she would need to drink. Try getting the transitioning cups and find nipples that are most like the mothers and just keep offering the cup to her.

I had the same problem with my daughter and was told to make sure that she was eating foods that were liquid like. Such as fruit jellies, vegetables that have a lil water added to them when mixed. I just kept trying new teets for the bottles and she eventually started drinking out of one of them. Sometimes they just get picky and want it to feel a particular way. ;) Hope she gets back on the bottle soon.

Try getting her a bottle in the shape of a favorite pet or cartoon character. They are available. Hopefully she will drink (not eat ) out of that. If not, she may very well manage a drinking cup with a lid on it. Hope this helps. good luck

She's weening herself, a bottle she does not need. Don't give her a bottle. Try various cups, and if she doesn't accept any, go back to breast-feeding unless your milk has already dried up.

Beyond that, you'd have to force feed her fluids.

Talk to your doc or nurse.

back on the bottle? are your crazy. That is great that she is willing to eat regular baby food. It is her way of telling you Hey mom i want food not liquid.

Unless you are just being lazy and dont want to take the time to feed her. then sure why not but her back on the bottle, so that you can just give her it and be done with feeding. however you are going to have to take her off anyway.
