Animals can exhibit homosexual behavior.
One of the most documented cases was probably that of two penguins in the New York City zoo (I believe they were together for 11 years).
Some animals that have been known to exhibit homosexual behavior include:
American Bison (full penetration), Bonobos (engages in bi-sexual behavior), Sheep and as mentioned Penguins.
More information about the topic is offered in the links below:

On my observation of dogs, sheep, cattle and other domestic animals, I tend to believe that animals are bi-sexual if the occasion arises, or heterosexual under normal circumstances.
They don't seem to have any hang-ups about having a bit of sex with either gender. Perhaps we should think about this?

No, sometimes dog's don't take the time to check. I had a Rottweiler that when he got up there in years he'd mount any thing.

NO! They can NOT be gay! Animals are not like humans. Humans are just perverted, messed-up beings. (Well, most of them.)
