When do you know when to change your child's formula? My son is 1 month old and has been drinking Enfamil A+ for about 4 days. His bowel movements are terribly painful for him and I wonder if this is due to the formula. When they come out, they are not hard, so I know water or more hydration wouldn't make a difference. He does do them once a day, but I truly hate to see him suffer for at least 30 minutes with these cramps and pain. Is this a reason to switch?
I'm waiting to hear back from my doctor, but in the meantime I thought I'd ask other parents. Thanks!

I was breastfeeding until just recently due to recurrent mastitis infections with very high fevers. I was forced to stop due to the fact that I have been on antibiotics for the mastitis since my milk came in. Upon the advice of our pediatrician, we put him on formula.

We have also been giving him Ovol, which is the Canadian version of Mylicon. Unfortunately, it doesn't work when his gas is that far down his digestive tracts. :(
