Two that pop into my mind are: The one where the guy keeps going to the morgue in the hospital and the lady opens the door and says: "Room for one more, honey". Creeped me the hell out. And the one where the kid sends people to the cornfield or something.

I was just going to reply "It's a Good Life" before I even read the end of your question (that's the one where the kid sends people to the cornfield). I also like the one where the chick has a normal face and they keep trying to fix her because everyone else has a creepy face.

My sought after is the only the place Burgess Meredith likes to examine. He finally ends up being the only guy or woman left on earth. He gets books jointly to examine, then his glasses ruin and there is not any one to repair them.

The one that sticks in my mind is the one where the ending scene is a devastated landscape and a man with glasses surrounded by books. He is ecstatic that his precious books are still available. When he bends down to pick the first one, his glasses tumble from his face and smash to bits. Of course, they are reading glasses.
Reminds me of myself at times.
