I haven't paid on it since Sep 2005. After Hurricane Katrina I had no income for some time and am actually just now getting back on my feet. I know it's a bad thing to do but I just can't function without my car. I have three children and work hours when the public transportation isn't running. Will they hunt me down for the next 7 years or eventually just give it up.

Yes, you can stop the repo man but you need a lawyer. You did not say the state you were in so I will refer you to the coalition of Tulane Law School students and lawyers. There services/advice will be free for you. Click on the link and fill in the form on the page. Tell them your story and ask for advice/help in keeping you car. Katrina victims are not forgoten by all and I know it takes years to recover such a great loss. Good luck to you. http://www.fromthelaketotheriver.org/legal-aid-1060229.html

The Salem Witch Trials weren't performed by utilising the Catholic Church!!! it somewhat is between the main incredulous statements i've got ever examine. and that i could desire to comprehend, too 'cuz i'm from MA!! Catholicism became into unlawful interior the rather some colonies (including MA) until eventually the 18th century (and in some places, the nineteenth). This cutting-edge isn't something extra advantageous than a smear marketing campaign aimed in direction of the Holy Father. the concentration of the press insurance surrounding that's all bearing directly to the Pope, no longer bearing directly to the victims and the genuinely perpetrators of the crimes.

You admit your working and "Katrina" come-on. I get tired of hearing about Katrina. That was a long time ago. If your car is that important to you, do something about it.
Call the people with the mortgage on it and make a deal. They may listen to you. If they do make sure they pull the repo man off. Instead of using excuses like "Katrina" get into gear and back into life, we did.

I'm sorry you got caught in Katrina. But what you are doing is worse than wrong. It's illegal. If they don't eventually catch up to you and take the car, they will take you to court. A judge will not look kindly on this. And if you don't show up for court, he will serve a warrant for your arrest for theft by deception, which means you are keeping property that you have not paid for and that you have no right to possess.

a year and a half without paying is bad, but continuing this way is auto theft. you would be better of letting them have the car and go get yourself a junker to drive back and forth until you can find a better car. you just simply can't keep this car. you should call the company that holds the lein immediately and take care of it.

They won't ever give up if they have to they will work with another Repo company. If you're a victim of Katrina why not be responsible and call them up and tell them your situation maybe they can help you out. If you don't call they don't know. And then they just figure you're a bum refusing to pay.

They will probably have you locked up if possible, if you just talk to the people,& explain the situation on a pre-paid,(aka. disposable phone, you can get a Tracfone for 15 to 20 dollars) Don't even put your name or info on the info for the phone, & try to work out some kind of arrangement they may let you keep the car if you start paying on it,if they let you, when you address the envelope put their address as both addresses so they don't know where exactly you are.
