Computers are programmed to turn on bits and turn them off that is all.
It does not have the ability to add, subtract, Multiply, or divide. It can only turn on and turn off bits really fast. By doing so at great speeds, it appears to have the ability to find information, perform math problems. But the machine is no smarter than a light switch. It is similar to a large group of on / off switches and the ability to copy the information through turning on other switches on and off very fast.

Computers cannot think creatively, like you or I, by design. That's where Artifical Intelligence becomes a factor. Computers can be given an equation, and it will get you the answer. But if the equation is slightly off, the computer will never make any attempt to correct it, as it does not know of your intentions.

computers do think, they however only think logically and reactionary. One could argue they are no less living than plants... they feed on energy, they give off energy... if there is a creator of the universe and we are a microcosm of that universe is the computer not possibly a man made microcosm of this earth with many little lives and entities on it? Maybe what we're experiencing as 'life' is no less different than how a computer reacts to input of it's own? when you're born you power up, when you die you power down, when you see things you're receiving input, when you do things you're reacting to input.
