Why does the asian minority in america tend to excel more in education/economic status than other minorities?

They work hard... They make their kids work harder. They study. They do their homework. They respect parents and teachers. They practise their musical instruments. They go to the library. They don't seem to care much for the soccer team, cheerleaders, Nascar, professional wrestling or the latest rap songs. There's no mystery to it.

By virtue of their background, they come from poor economic strata. When they view their american counterparts they feel the urge to excel them. Excelling in studies is lot easier than in anything.Hence the asian minority in america tend to excel more in education/economic status than other minorities. Besides, those who come to america , the asians are no less inferior in intellect, hardwork, educational background. Only their economic background maynot be superior. Hence, it is no surprise they put their will and grit to excel in that.

Actually you are wrong in the educational part but right in the economic status. Africans are the most educated immigrants in the US.

it seems to me that education is looked on as an investment in their communities. Parents feel responsible for paying for their kids to go to college. So many kids dont have to worry about any bills until 22/23 or so. even then, many of them continue to live with their parents until they marry.

With many other families, they wash their hands of their kids at 18. So to make money, you gotta work.
