DOS.... (disk opperating system) will only see 130 meg of your hard drive, it can't see any more

fdisk is dos... so your need to slit your disk into at least two drives,

if you have lets say, a 120 gig drive, fdisk will ask you do you want to use all the disk, say no.... it will then ask how much do you want to use

you can split you drive into 4 drives..

30 x 4 = 120 gig to get this you would type in = 33%

that would leave you 90 gig left, for your extended drive, split the next same way.. 33% and the last 50% that would give you 4 30 gig drives

c, d, e, and f, and your cd rom will be drive h

format each drive after you have partitioned them or you will lose them partitions not formated, and you will be left with a smaller hard drive capacity..

once you install windows xp it will see each drive for the real size it is... don't worry to much what the dos size partition is it will right itself later on

it is always better to slit the drive into at least 2 drives, put you operating system on c and all the data on d drive that way if you lose c:/ windows, your data is safe (not lost) on d drive

It relies upon on the working gadget and the BIOS. a number of them basically understand a optimal of 128GB simply by fact the prevalent partition. to make sure the full rigidity (in case you're using XP), pass to start, administration Panel, Administrative approaches, laptop administration, Disk administration. you're able to be seeing the relax no longer person-friendly rigidity as Unallocated. you may create partitions out of it by precise clicking and assigning it a rigidity letter and the quantity of disk area you wqant to assign to each and each partition. or you're able to make it one partition. as quickly as the rigidity letter is assigned, you're able to format it using NTFS format to take finished great factor on the subject of the working gadget. I fairly have 3 partitions. One for the working gadget and purposes. One for records data and one for downloaded application. If my working gadget crashes, i'm no longer able to lose any data or downloaded application.
