The reasons people drink are as varied as the people themselves. Some of the more common reasons people give are: sociability, they like the taste, they feel more at ease when they drink, it helps them to relax, to get intoxicated or cop a buzz, to get drunk, because everybody does it, to forget problems, it gives them confidenceIt helps them to sleep, it helps reduce anxiety, it stops them worrying about things, to deal with stress, to deal with panic attacks, because they are depressed, dependant on it, to counter-act withdrawal symptoms.
Enough reasons? And how many do you really think are legitimate? I've used many of these myself and now realized none were really a good reason.

Not quite drunk. Somewhere between sober and drunk is a happy medium.
Many of the beverages you get a taste for. Like wine or beer for example. Drinking to get drunk is for losers.

very few people really like the taste of alcohol \\
so we disguise it with flavors ..in beer we use grain and hops etc etc to mask the alcohol..
but Non-alcoholic beer is available but does not sell like the regular beer as its the alcohol that people are needing to give them a mood altering experience. Most people who drink are very congenial at the beginning..but the more they drink the inhibitions break down and they talk louder as their hearing is diminished with the alcohol...
If you really want to see the effects of drinking. Go to an Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting as see what the effect of alcohol had on their lives. Marriages ruined, children left in definitional families., people put in jail because the crimes they commit ed under the influence.
People who have a drinking problem will never on their own admit that they are powerless over alcohol...being a little bit alcoholic is like a women saying she is just a little bit pregnant.

I've run a bar for years & seen most every walk of life come & go. It's not just because of getting drunk with most, although there are many of those too depending on what's going on in their lives at the time.

I enjoy alcoholic beverages for the same reason I enjoy anything else, it serves a purpose.

They don't like it. The alcoholic (person who takes alcohol) gets addicted and can't stop. This is because the mind overpowers the stomach and when you take in the drug chemicals in these beverages, it tends to make your mind want more.

It has a similar effect as the Avatar. It hides the identity and allows the person to act freely without reservation. Too much of course inhibits even this.

For so many reasons. I myself drink for a variety of reasons, for instance: I sometimes just like to have a beer or two and watch a ballgame, or I may drink just to catch a buzz and get lost in the world for a bit.

Because they're sooo freaking good! Sike, no I dont really drink that much myself UNLESS the taste of the alcohol is disguised. Many people drink it to run away from the everyday of life's problems.
