it'll be a great matchup...spurs showed some vulnerability but lots of spunk against the nuggets and the suns pretty much dominated the lakers....since the suns have the home court advantage, i'll go with the suns in 6 or 7...its about time for nash to contend in the finals and this seems to be their best chance with the mavs eliminated, they should take it all if they manage to get by the spurs

Although I'm a long-time Suns fan, I'll try to be objective here. The Suns have a potent offense and the Spurs have a stifling defense. While I'd normally say that an offense as potent as the Suns' would be the better of the two, San Antonio has proven time and time again that even when they run with the Suns, they can still win. Which is not something many teams in the NBA can say with any hint of truth. Phoenix needs Barbosa to step up and contribute more on defense and offense to help balance out Ginobli. Manu generally has solid games against the Suns, mostly because he excels at the up-tempo style the Suns like to play at. This should prove to be the most hottly-contested series of the playoffs, but I'd have to give a slight edge to Phoenix since they do have the home court. Phoenix really needs to win the first two games at home in order to put a little pressure on the Spurs to have to win their two home games. Otherwise, this one will likely go to seven games.

i would say the Spurs. They have been here before and we all know that Defense wins Championships. It's hard to just outscore a team (ask the Mavs???), and to do it 4 times. Gregg Poppavich is a great game-to-game adjuster and think one crucial factor is that the Spurs have "BIG SHOT BOB". (Robert Horry- the man has playoff saavy and has won 7 rings)...

I think some of the keys to the series though might be Free throw shooting (Duncan has shown himself to be very inconsistent in the clutch). Amare Stoudemire must stay out of foul trouble- because the Suns are a different team without him (just looking at the series vs the Lakers). They need Stoudemire for defensive purposes, because they've no one else who can really match up with Tim Duncan. Tony Parker leads the league (at least guards) for points in the paint and Manu likes playing that up-tempo so the Spurs i think can get Phoenix in foul trouble.

Also Michael Finley has been shooting the ball well.

The Suns are an offensive jugarnaut and personally as a NBA fan-- i think a Suns-Warriors series would be so entertaining but i think that defense wins championships and the Spurs are the best defensive team in the playoffs! Spurs in 6.

Damn, I'm Suns fan and expect Suns to sweep the Spurs. Amare has return better than ever and with current Suns cast, it must be more than enough to destroy the boring Spurs.
Third time the charm, this season is the year of the Suns.

For the sake of seeing GSW v.s. PHX, I'd go with PHX... That would be the most exciting series ever... GSW and PHX are probably favorites now of winning it all but I'm not counting out the extremely consistent Spurs and Pistons... Whoever wins this series could possibly be the champions as only the pistons post a problem in the East... but I sure hope its Phoenix... They deserve ot this year... They have been a better team this year and they got Amare... Go Suns!!!
