I need a definition, because all the 'baton holders' returns I got on the web match my vocabulary and are police sticks.
Loop and earth would normally mean, to me, an antenna, with no connection to a power line.

Sounds like you are in Australia. If so, there should be 2 red wires 1 white and one black and an earth (Green/Yellow). If yes, there should be 4 terminals. Reds goes to loop, white and black go to other 2 holes and Green/Yellow goes to Earth terminal.

PS - Pull the Batton Holder apart completely before completing the above as you may find the extra terminals.

Cameron is spot on but you sholdn't be touching it ,repercussions are ,fire,electrocution,death or injury to yourself or others,destruction of the property ,no insurance claims in the event of the above,YOU are liable for the rest of your life for the electrical work you have done and insurance companies LOVE you.
