Yes, Dallas won a lot of games, but the defending champs got swept in 4! They both sucked. What? Does D-Wayde get some magical excuse because of some tendonitis or something? Wasn't Terry injured for the Mavs some? Wasn't Jordan injured at times or even sick during the playoffs or finals??

Miami takes the prize in this one...narrowly. Give the Bulls a lot of credit though, and also Nellie. Chicago is a force, and D-Wade was fresh off an injury. The Mavs came up against a basketball genius in Don Nelson. He is a big part of the reason Dallas is out of the cellar and in the penthouse now. He pruned Dirk into what he is today, and he took full advantage of the knowledge that he has. Golden State is a better team than people think. The team that's playing now is not the same team from the beginning of the season. They have geled into a pretty good team since the mid-season trade.

The biggest choke job was the Mavs. I mean, this is a team that did so well in the regular season and has a possible MVP candidate. I know the playoffs are a different animal, but Dallas built that team around Dirk. He is expected to step up and be a leader, not become a choke artist or lose his leadership role and tell the media that everything is lost now. Dirk lost all passion for the game when they found themselves down 3-1. Sure, he had a little spark near the end of game 5, but that momentum was a little too late and not enough to carry back in Oakland. Here's some other factors:

Avery was outcoached by Nelson.

Nelson's small ball bothered Dirk. He had the ball stripped often by the smaller players and did not try to drive to the basket, create shots, find an open man or get fouls.

Golden State enjoyed playing the game more than the Mavs did. Even though Avery said the pressure was on GS, it was all on the Mavs. Did you see how many "I don't care if it goes in or not" threes that Jackson hit? It was obvious that they were having more fun and actually playing some basketball.

Avery made the mistake of underestimating the opponent. He let his regulars sit out and take breathers for too long in the preseason.

I can list more and more, but I think you get the point.

As for Miami, Wade wasn't 100%. But in all, the Bulls simply outplayed them and had much better defense and teamwork. They were an unselfish team that got the job done, and rather quickly. I think everyone saw that coming before playoffs started.

Matthew-

i'd have to say that it was Dallas losing to Golden State and this is why:

1) Dallas 67 wins ranks in the top 10 of all time, and they were overall 26 games better record wise than the Warriors.

2) Dallas had an opportunity to knock Golden State out of the playoffs by beating them in 2nd to last regular season game but instead chose to sit 4 of their starters (so it's quite a statement that they thought they could beat Golden State). If they feared them they would have tried to beat them.

3) D. Wade was seriously hurt. That's not the only reason Miami lost. Miami missed too many free-throws and their veterans disappeared.

4) There was a time when Miami wasn't even supposed to make the playoffs and but they got hot without D. Wade when Shaq was balling- Shaq looked real out vs the Bulls.

5) The Bulls were in a position to be the #2 team in the East but a late season loss cost them that #2 seed. Remember they had homecourt vs the Heat which means they had a better record.

The expectations were quite different. It wasn't surprising that the Bulls won, just that they won in 4. It was shocking that Golden State beat the MAVS that's why it's making the headlines. i think going into the playoffs most experts and fans already expected the champion to be from the West and most were picking either the Mavs or Phoenix (with the MAVS in most public opinion polls slightly above Phoenix)... they were the odds on favorites to win this year (esp. after falling short being up 2-0 in the finals last year) and they choked again!

Dallas lost in 6 why?
1. Dallas had a complete roster all year, Miami lost Shaq and Wade in alot of games.
2. Dallas had a 67-15 record, the Heat posted a 44-38 record.
3. No one expected the Warriors to win, many predicted the Bulls to win.
4. Losing as no.1 seed to a no.8 seed is tougher to swallow rather than the defending champs getting sweeped the next season. In my opinion.

Dallas losing.

I mean, honestly, did anyone actually think the Heat were going to repeat? They're way too old and can't really play together, especially since Wade dislocated his shoulder.

Dallas, however, won 67 games and boasts the probable league MVP in Dirk Nowitzki. (I digress, though. Steve Nash should be MVP again.)

Dirk can't lead. He's always had people covering for him. Nash and Michael Finley could lead, but Dirk? Naw.

Now that Finley shot the Spurs to the second round and Nash assisted his Suns there too, Dirk is nowhere to be found.

Dallas shouldn't be blamed as a whole. Jerry Stackhouse seemed to be working his butt off. Blame Dirk 'cause he's supposed to be a leader, and when everything was on the line, it turns out that he's just been following the script and apparently lost his notes.

Dallas was better off with Finley and Nash.

Dallas losing is a loooot worse because it came out of nowhere. Golden State is good, but most people are just saying that after what they did. Before the playofffs, most had them swept. Miami played Chicago, a quality team that has a chance to win it all

I think the Miami sweep was a bigger choke job. The Golden State win was not a big surprise. Nelson built the Mavs. He knew all there strengths and weaknesses. If the Mavs had played any other team they would have been in round 2.

possibly because of the fact the warmth might have injury issues. Dwyane Wade has ignored 20 p.c. of the video games it is been achieveable for him to play in on condition that coming to the NBA in 2003. Wade, inspite of having come into the league in 2003 with LBJ and Bosh, will turn 29 years previous halfway throughout the 2010-2011 season. on an identical time as the warmth would be very good, they nonetheless would desire to teach themselves to be declared greater effectual than the two time protecting NBA Champion L.A. Lakers.

Dallas and Dirk. U were right D-Wade!!!!!!!!!! Dirk is no leader and cant lead a team. He he better as a 2nd or 3rd option on Dallas. U D-Wade single handedly brought the Heat almost from a 0-3 hole to 4 in a row in the 06 finals. The GREATEST FINALS PERFORMANCE IN BASKETBALL HISTORY!!Yeah!!!

D-Wade was injured. Having pulled muscles is serious. Jordan played through a fever once but he was one of the more injury-free players. He never played through injuries like Wade had too.
Neither team really choked. Give credit to Chicago and Golden State, they were balling.
