Of course Dirk was the big screw up in the series...and the Warriors played out of their minds. As good of a coach as Avery is, it seems like he has trouble regaining confidence in his players once the momentum has shifted, and this showed in this series and last years finals. This may be because he hasn't coached very long, but it is not hard to tell that this series really tried Cuban's patience. I have a feeling that someone will go down for this, and I don't see the Mavs trading Dirk.

I think Avery is a nice guy and I asked this question earlier with the same response your getting, but you got to wonder cause Cuban is a nut. I say there is no telling. That was a very embarrassing night for their franchise and something is going to change I think that is inevitable.

Yes! He is deserving of a lot of years at helm in Dallas. His Mavs finished67-15, best record in the NBA. It's just not his luck that they faced a Don Nelson-coached GSW, who knows the Big D more than Avery does. If the Mavs faced the Clippers, it would have been a very different story.

I don't think Cuban will replace AJ or Dirk. The Mavs were a joke before AJ took over and Dirk is a lot more valuable than he looked Thursday.

dirk had a nine year deal contract with the mavs since 2001... i think avery will still be the mavs coach next season... they had a pretty good start in the regular season, being number 1 team overall..but fell off short in the playoffs...

I heard that Mark was considering selling the Mav's. If the rumor was true, this might be the deciding factor.

He is very young, he will grow. He is one of the youngest coaches in the history of the league.
I think Cuban really likes him and will stand by him. Cuban is lucky to find anybody who will listen to his bs so I think he will keep him around.

I think they would be crazy to get rid of him. He made some rookie-like mistakes this year (especially by changing the lineup before the first round of playoffs).
