Does anyone remember when MTV would play music videos? I don't mean like 2 hours worth of videos at 2am, or anything like TRL or the short lived "Rock Videos That Don't Suck" that had a theme. I'm talking a real honest block of music videos during normal viewing hours. Does anybody remember this? I haven't seen it in at least 15 years.

That sounds like a really long time. I was 10. I don't remember a block of videos since Nirvana put out their first album.

MTV hasn't been MTV (it originally stood for Music Television) in a really long time. Now it stands for Money Television.

It's one thing to have some shows on there that are related to music - but when they started doing The Real World that's when it became TTV (Teen Television). It's geared towards teens and early 20's. Can anyone tell me how TRW is remotely related to the music industry? I can't find the connection, or maybe it's because I'm too old.

Yeah, I remember when you could turn on MTV and watch videos all day long. I miss those days.....

"well-liked shows?" No, as quickly as I watched MTV there have been NO shows. It replaced into basically wall-to-wall video clips. well-liked VJ: JJ Jackson. well-liked video: Dave Edmunds' "I Knew the Bride (while She Used to Rock and Roll)."

Yes I remember when they would actually PLAY videos, but then I also remember when VH1 would do the same. Do you remember a show on WTBS (now TBS) called "Night Tracks"? They also just played videos. You should check out Youtube.com, someone has saved a BUNCH of the videos from Night Tracks! Enjoy!

Yeah, they played videos back when they were entertaining. Now it's all hip-hop and who wants to watch the same thing over and over again?
