We are probably already in it, like being in the foothills of the Alps. No matter the outcome in Iraq and Afghanistan, any semblance of peace will only be a lull in the fighting there, regardless of USA presence. As it is now obvious to all, the conflicts in the area are among the indigenous people, factions that have been warring since the first historic records were created. If you want to accelerate the process, snatch all the coalition troops out immediately, Iran, Syria, The Kurds, the Shiite of Iraq and the Sunni of Iraq will be in the most confused war since the beginning of time within a month or two.

Matters will escalate, the big guys, USA, Russia, China, and who all else will get involved through client factions, and in short order some fool will hit the switch, FOX 1, FOX 2, then the retaliation missiles come in, and there you have it... toast!

It may have already started -- 9/11 may be regarded as the beginning of a gradual descent into WWIII.

I think that the most likely scenario is that Al-Qaeda succeeds in building a pan-Islamic state, and touches off a regional war in the Middle East and the Horn of Africa and smaller conflicts all around the globe. Israel, Iran, and North Korea will probably jump in, and then the spark will REALLY hit the powder keg as rival nations all around the globe seize their chance and pick sides. I don't think that the superpowers will be stupid enough to use nukes on each other, but that just ensures that we'll survive for a long, horrific time.

A 2d Korean conflict is definitely conceivable. WW3 isn't, and something even resembling which would be no longer take place until eventually they nuke somebody, and that's particularly no longer likely. China has reported they gained't preserve in the event that they're invaded, and that's comprehensible; they are no longer going to throw away each little thing they have gained over the final decade for some tin-pot dictatorship who nonetheless think of it relatively is the chilly conflict, and that they have got strongly condemned all their nuclear exams. additionally, international Wars a million and a pair of had various international places on the two part, jointly as the only united states NK might have on their part is themselves. it may well be extra of a case of the completed international vs North Korea. and that may no longer likely the two, by fact if the U. S. brings the completed tension of their militia down on them it may well be over interior of each week.

I think we already in the lead up to it. Its only going to take Iran striking Israel or another war mongering ar*ehole like Bush to decide he has a grudge against another country to push it over the edge.

There are so many trigger points at the moment but I think these will get more serious as China grows to rival the US.

So, the 'official' view will be that the war was between China and the US but the trigger will be the Middle East and egos!

Typically we saw such things happen when evil forces around the globe unite. We are starting to see the same type of axis of evil form slowly but surely with nations like Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, China, N Korea, Iran, Syria, possibly Pakistan with enough prodding, Germany and France maybe the way they are going!

If the 2 greatest evils in recent modern history unite, Islam and Communism, WATCHOUT!!! Such an army would probably outnumber allied forces!

ADDITONAL: Now here you pose a great Q and what do libs do? Prove they have no good ideas by saying retarded things like "its already happened" and "Bush is going to start it." They truly live in their own hate-filled worlds. Who are they going to demonize after Bushs gone? Such miserable people!

It talks about it in the bible somewhere when we're nearing the end of the world. All nations will rise up against Israel(they're now but I mean properly)and when the extermination of the Jews is almost complete then Jesus will come to save us or damn us.

I dunno man. I'm thinking it will start with something small, and will eventually grow. Maybe if the US somehow threatens China's oil supply.... that's just a guess, I'm really uneducated on China's oil supply and I really have no clue.

But I'm thinking something small will turn into something big, and the war will be very short and very devastatin (press of a button)./

in all actuality, the better question would be "when do you think ww3 might end?" in all reality, we have been in a world war since the korean and 'nam wars. it has essentially been one long, drawn out conflict with changing sides and allies and shifting battlefields.
