Last week I was doing my job at work, when a co-worker I never had meet started to yell at me and tell me I was doing my job wrong. I explained to her that this is how I was trained, she then kept yelling so I asked her to please talk to me in a more pleasant tone. She didn't listen and kept yelling at me. I started to feel like crap and just couldn't believe someone I never met before was yelling and demening me this way. As I was walking out I turned to a manager and asked him "Why is she being such a ***** to me?" He just said "I don't know". She then came around the corner and said, "I'm not being a *****?" I said "You are being very rude to me and I don't appriciate you speaking to me in the tone you are, you could be a little calmer and more nice." She then said she was just doing her job. I had to just walk away. The next day I found out I was fired because I used the word *****. Is there anything I should do?

Personal opinion: If you were fired that girl who was rude to you should also be fired. There is no place for uncivilized behaviour in a work environment. The dignity of a person is more important than the business. If I were you I would talk to HR, apologize for the words you said, and ask for an explanation for your dismissal. If you are not satisfied you can go to Labor and file a complaint for wrongful termination. I hope this helps.
Peace and blessings!

Its funny when people do something without caring and nobody cares. So when someone does care and tries to teach you the right way then you get defensive. Listen I was reading Ernie Harwell's collumn several years ago in sports when he said that it is difficult to teach a ball player these days. Hey more effort should be made by the worker to learn rather than the superviser.

I paint with this guy and told him to put on the paint in one direction then roll perpendicular to the light. He said no. It can be very hard to teach people these days.

Do you own a gun? J/K but you called her a bi*th right. That is unprofessional but it seems a little extreme that they fired you. I can see suspending you but firing you that is harsh. I don't about the legality of it but you can always go to you boss and explain the situtation and state if you are punished she should also be punished.

Depends on the state and co agreement you may have signed....but if that was your first offense and you have no NONE prior history of being nasty rude late...etc then you have a case! Sorry I hate ignorant rude people who throw authority around!!! I wish ya luck.

I'd take it up with human resources if I were you. It seems like your coworker should be the one to get fired.
